ABOUT US

Connie Thompson was an unlikely candidate for cancer. A health enthusiast, she adhered to a nutritious diet, exercised regularly, didn’t drink or smoke, and had no extraordinary stresses in her life. She had yearly medical checkups including mammograms. Yet, in 1998, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

She and her husband, Terry, counseled with a reputable surgeon who recommended and performed a lumpectomy. The surgeon then told them to select an oncologist who would begin appropriate treatment. They visited a prominent clinic where the oncologist set up Connie’s schedule for chemo treatments. Later, radiation was added to the protocol. After nine agonizing months of sickness, weakness, hair loss, and anxiety, the cancer was in remission—for three months. Then, it was discovered to have metastasized, or migrated, to her liver. Connie and Terry later learned through their own research that this metastasis condition, or Stage Four cancer, was terminal. But, the oncologist offered no choice but to increase the frequency and potency of chemical infusion into her body along with major surgery.

This has been the typical scenario for almost every cancer patient for the last fifty years. Connie and Terry later discovered, as many have, that there are options that complement and, in some cases, reduce or eliminate  traditional debilitating cancer treatments. There are natural, nutritional, immune system enhancing, and detoxifying processes that thousands of cancer patients are finding successful. Unfortunately, the Thompsons discovered too late that they had other choices. In desperation, they switched to alternative treatments, but Connie’s body was so riddled with chemo and radiation, nothing was left to fight the disease naturally. The Lord relieved her pain and suffering and received her into His heaven on May 23, 2001.

The Connie Thompson Foundation was established in Connie’s memory to be a resource for promoting the freedom of choice in the formidable battle against cancer. The Foundation pursues this purpose by disseminating information to the public; funding research for complementary and integrative treatments; lobbying the Congress; and advocating treatment freedom within the medical, pharmaceutical, and insurance industries.  Our hope is that, very soon, no one else will have to suffer cancer's brutal attacks like Connie and hundreds of thousands of others had to suffer.

The Foundation is a non-profit, IRC 501c(3), organization that receives no income other than contributions by individuals, grants from other foundations, corporations, or agencies, and fund raising activities.

Accountability of the Foundation is assured by a board of directors, periodic external audits, and a commitment to biblical principles of integrity. Less than 15% of receipts are used for administrative and promotional functions leaving over 85% to fund the Foundation's purposes directly. Donations are needed and may be sent to:
