OUR MISSION

 

To pursue the defeat of cancer by promoting balanced access to all legitimate and tested treatment options. This effort includes funding bona fide research into complementary and integrative treatment, interacting with the medical and insurance industries, and influencing government policy.

Explanatory notes:

...defeat of cancer means what it says. We are committed to virtually eradicating the disease as was done with polio, small pox, and many other diseases of monumental proportion in their day.

...legitimate and tested treatment options for cancer exist that are sadly either illegal or unacknowledged in our country, the world’s model of freedom and democracy. Although quackery and fraudulent claims abound, genuine medicines and methodologies that show great promise are often conveniently grouped into those illegitimate categories by the mainstream medical establishment.

...bona fide research is defined as pure, scientific research by recognized institutions and laboratories acceptable to the mainstream medical establishment. Such research into integrative treatment options is woefully neglected due to protectionism by the establishment, insufficient return on investment, and skepticism by practitioners.

...interacting with the medical and insurance industries refers to the concerted effort to “level the playing field” within these industries and to make room at the table for integrative treatment. Such acknowledgement is essentially nonexistent due to bureaucracy and lack of incentive.

...influencing government policy is the low key lobbying effort that is necessary to offset the highly financed lobby operations of the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Freedom of choice in cancer treatment is only possible with the removal of many statutory constraints.
