OUR FOUNDER

Terry Thompson was the husband of Connie Thompson for 33 wonderful years before metastasized breast cancer ended that near-perfect relationship. They were a team throughout the raising of two gifted sons, a military career, world travel, ministry in a large church, and the enjoyment of life in general. The shocking diagnosis in 1998 led to three years of intensive, debilitating treatment and her death in 2001. Toward the end of these three devastating years, and out of desperation, the couple opted for alternative cancer treatment in Mexico—treatment that was illegal in the U.S. Although it came too late in this particular case, both Terry and Connie were deeply impressed with the possibilities and opportunities discovered for treatment in addition to what they had experienced.

Terry promised Connie, just before she succumbed to the disease, that he would continue to study and pursue the advancement of other types of treatment in her honor and memory. To this day, it has been his focused passion to advocate the development of integrative cancer treatment and the freedom of patients and practitioners to choose it. In 2003, Terry incorporated the Connie Thompson Foundation as a principal means to further the cause of more natural, non-toxic cancer treatment opportunities. He now leads the activities of the Foundation as its president. His vision is to see more natural, non-toxic treatment options be authorized and made available in the U.S. after bona fide research and development through legitimate institutions and laboratories. The Foundation is key to producing the resources and influence necessary to succeed in that effort.

Terry remarried, and he and Linda are partners in furthering the Foundation vision. Linda has two children also, and they share 6 grandchildren who keep them young at heart.  Terry's first grandchild was born with a rare congentital cancer.  Two older brothers recently died of the disease within a few months of each other. The entire family has felt cancer's sting and is committed to a cancer free future. Terry has co-authored a new book, coming soon, that questions the exclusive dependence on conventional cancer treatment and strongly advocates a new strategy for the war on cancer.  Look for the release of A New Strategy for the War on Cancer on this Web site.
